Keep your credentials private. If a provider sends a playlist URL, treat it like account information and avoid posting it publicly.

Improve reliability

If possible, use Ethernet or place the router where the TV gets a strong signal. Restart the TV and router when diagnosing intermittent issues, then test another streaming service to separate home-network problems from source-specific problems.

Keep the TV software and player updated. If an app becomes unstable after an update, check the developer’s support information before repeatedly changing network settings.

When an external streaming device makes sense

A Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV device, or another supported streaming box can provide a wider app ecosystem than the built-in TV platform. This can be useful when your television does not offer a compatible player.

An external device is not automatically better. Consider remote control quality, app support, updates, picture formats, and whether you actually need the extra flexibility.
